STORYBOARD ARTIST

CAT ATTACK

Whilst trying to break into the industry I have started making my own animations and storyboard projects to keep me busy. This is my latest frame by frame animation made in photoshop and adobe animate. I will be sending out the completed film in colour to film festivals in 2024.

THE ORANGUTANS

Sound

The Orangutan project was created over a four week period. It started by sourcing the sound, to help inspire the story. Thumb-nailing was an essential process, it helped me discover frames to develop further. Throughout this project I kept a sketchbook that endless doodles of Orangutans and forest environments. This helped me to become emerged in the story's world. This particular project was eventually drawn in photoshop, I really enjoyed the sensitivity a look of the brushes they had to offer.

THEFT AND SHRUBBERY

Sound

Theft and Shrubbery, narrated by Bob Mortimer from another BBC show ‘ Would I Lie To You’. I love this story and have reacted to the comedy by changing the people to garden and city animals, portraying their point of view on what it takes to invade somebodies garden.

This project was made in my sketchbook and then finalised in storyboard pro. I made a thumbnail of this story organically in my sketchbook - scanned the images and then rearranged in them into a story. I used this process to create a more fluid result. Not rushing the outcome. This made going into Storyboard Pro quicker and more efficient as I was able to resolve the idea of the sequence and story in my thumbnail.

12 ANGRY MEN PARODY

The Twelve Angry Men Animatic was inspired by my desire to modernise the original film. The visuals for the character's monologues were spent in one room, I hoped to display what they were saying with with new descriptive visuals alongside their speech to help the audience understand the character's trail of thought or argument for/against the case. The project was drawn in storyboard Pro a very efficient software for ordering panels and creating animatics. This film was more perfectly suited for a live action film.

WE WILL BE BACK AFTER THE BREAK

We Will Be Back After The Break, was a first pass for a stop-motion collaboration project. They needed a quick way of visualising the script. I included all my own sound and edited the shots myself, the final film would have changed by the end of production. This was valuable experience for me collaborating in the early stages of pre-production.

FILMS

THE TWO FISHERMEN

The Two Fishermen project was a film I made in over a 6 week period. I crafted my own Multi-plane using wood and perspex glass. I animated the characters using a light box and paper cut outs. The story is about two fishermen competing to fish the most fish.

There were various challenges when making this film, like the width between each perspex glass and how to light each level without any reflection.
